As we transition into the late fall and early winter, now is the time to winterize pipes to prevent freezing and possible bursting, especially those that are exposed to the outdoors. Outdoor water pipes should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Water hoses should be disconnected from your house and drained. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
