As we transition into the late fall and early winter, now is the
time to winterize pipes to prevent freezing and possible bursting,
especially those that are exposed to the outdoors. Outdoor water
pipes should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Water
hoses should be disconnected from your house and drained. Those
that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover
above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
