Strong Wind Gusts Late Tonight into Tuesday Morning... A late autumn low pressure system will spread gusty winds across the Lake Cumberland area, as well as the higher foothills and mountains southeast of Kentucky Highway 80 late tonight. Southeasterly to southerly wind gusts peaking between 25 and 35 mph are expected for most locations, particularly on ridges and open countryside. Sporadic, isolated wind gusts in excess of 40 mph are also possible. The winds will persist into Tuesday morning before diminishing around midday. Poorly secured holiday decor may be dislodged or blown away.
