FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, including Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties. Portions of the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend, including Calhoun, Central Walton, Coastal Bay, Coastal Gulf, Gadsden, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Jackson, Liberty, North Walton, South Walton and Washington counties. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A complex weather system is expected to lead to multiple rounds of heavy rainfall across the watch area through Sunday afternoon. In particular, portions of the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend are at most risk for flooding caused by excessive rainfall, with storm total amounts ranging from 3 to 6 inches, and the potential for amounts greater than 6 to 8 inches closer to the gulf coast.
