Your message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected near Mallard Creek. * WHERE...A portion of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM EST. * IMPACTS...River or stream flows are elevated, and minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 613 PM EST, Stream gauge reports indicated that Mallard Creek has risen slightly out of its banks near Pavilion Blvd following 1 to 2 inches of rainfall earlier today. Any additional rise on the creek could lead to partial flooding of the PNC Music Pavilion parking lots or other low-lying areas nearby. Continuing runoff and drainage into the Rocky River will cause it to continue to rise for several more hours. Additional flood advisories could be needed in Cabarrus County later tonight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
