FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of Maine, including the following counties, Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc, Waldo and York and central New Hampshire, including the following county, Strafford. * WHEN...Until 700 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1259 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Portland, Lewiston, Rochester, South Portland, Auburn, Biddeford, Brunswick, Augusta, Westbrook and Waterville. - For coastal areas, the afternoon high tide in combination with excessive runoff could exacerbate flooding.
