Prepare for possible blizzard conditions. Continue to monitor the
latest forecasts for updates on this situation.
A dynamic system moves into the Plains tonight. A band of snow
will develop in central South Dakota and continue into Sunday
afternoon. Snow amounts for this band will likely be around 2
inches with the higher amounts likely west of the James River.
The heavier snowfall will come on Monday into Tuesday. East of
this watch towards I-29 there will be wintry precipitation but
confidence on amounts is lower. Likely a mix of freezing rain,
sleet and snow. Parts of southwest MN and northwest IA will
likely see a mix of rain and freezing rain with lesser chances of
snow. In all likelihood, winter weather headlines will be needed
for most locations to cover all of the challenges.
