Gusty Winds Late this Morning through the Afternoon... Winds will increase out of the southeast later this morning and into the afternoon hours today as strong winds aloft work down toward the ground. Peak wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected across much of the area, with isolated gusts in excess of 40 mph possible if any stronger showers or thunderstorms develop later this afternoon. Winds will quickly diminish after sunset tonight.
