Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following
counties, Surry and Wilkes and southwest Virginia, including the
following counties, Carroll, Floyd, Grayson and Patrick.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- 2 to 4 inches of rain has fallen in the area since Monday
afternoon, with some isolated amounts close to 5 inches near
the Blue Ridge Parkway. Up to another 1.5 inches of rain is
possible by Wednesday morning.
