FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CREATE SLIPPERY ROADS BEFORE THE SNOW
ARRIVES...
Light freezing drizzle has been reported across much of the area
this evening, and roads have become ice covered and slippery in
spots, especially along and north of Highway 29. The most likely
area for widespread freezing drizzle and icing is far northeast
Wisconsin, but at least patchy freezing drizzle is expected
elsewhere.
Snow is expected to develop in parts of central Wisconsin and the
southern Fox Valley toward midnight, then spread north overnight
into early Tuesday. The snow will start to accumulate in central,
east central and northeast Wisconsin overnight, and in north
central Wisconsin early Tuesday morning. The snow should remain
generally light in most areas through about midday Tuesday. The
heaviest snow is still expected to occur Tuesday afternoon and
early evening, and this will also coincide with the strongest
winds, which will gust to 30 to 40 mph at times.
Motorists should use caution tonight, and plan ahead for even
worse conditions Tuesday afternoon and evening.
