FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of western Maryland, including the following
area, Central and Eastern Allegany, western Virginia, including
the following areas, Eastern Highland and Western Highland, and
eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern
Mineral, Eastern Pendleton, Hampshire, Hardy and Western Pendleton.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A period of moderate to heavy rain is likely to overspread
the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals of
one to three inches are expected. Any lingering snowpack will
increase runoff as it melts.
