Slow down and use caution while traveling.
When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulation
ranging from a coating to around one inch in the Blue Ridge
Mountains and valleys of the Potomac Highlands to around 1 to
3 inches near the Allegheny Front in western Maryland and
eastern West Virginia. Ice accumulations ranging from less
than a tenth of an inch below 2,000 feet to one to two tenths
of an inch above 2,000 feet. Southeast winds gusting around 30
to 40 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of western Maryland, central, northwest and
western Virginia and eastern West Virginia.
* WHEN...From 4 AM to 1 PM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact the morning commute, especially near
the Allegheny Front and above 2,000 feet elsewhere.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation will begin as a wintry mix
of snow, sleet, and freezing rain before changing to all rain
by early Tuesday afternoon.
