WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulation ranging from a coating to around one inch in the Blue Ridge Mountains and valleys of the Potomac Highlands to around 1 to 3 inches near the Allegheny Front in western Maryland and eastern West Virginia. Ice accumulations ranging from less than a tenth of an inch below 2,000 feet to one to two tenths of an inch above 2,000 feet. Southeast winds gusting around 30 to 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of western Maryland, central, northwest and western Virginia and eastern West Virginia. * WHEN...From 4 AM to 1 PM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute, especially near the Allegheny Front and above 2,000 feet elsewhere. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation will begin as a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain before changing to all rain by early Tuesday afternoon.
