...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST
WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning above 3500 feet, south winds 25
to 35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. For the Wind Advisory below
3500 feet, south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. For
the Wind Advisory, west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Graham, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Northern Jackson,
Swain, and Yancey Counties.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning and first Wind Advisory, until 7
PM EST this evening. For the second Wind Advisory, from 10 PM this
evening to 1 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
