The National Weather Service in Peachtree City GA has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...
Noonday Creek at Shallowford Road near Woodstock affecting
Cherokee and Cobb Counties.
For the Etowah River Basin...including Woodstock...Minor flooding is
forecast.
...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING TO LATE THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Noonday Creek at Shallowford Road near Woodstock.
* WHEN...From this morning to late this evening.
* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding
begins in the woodlands and natural flood plain near the creek
upstream and downstream from the gage on Shallowford Road.
Portions of Noonday Creek Park and residential backyards on Bridge
Drive will begin to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:16 AM EST Tuesday the stage was 10.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:16 AM EST Tuesday was 10.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.4
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
10.4 feet on 09/17/2020.
