SNOW TO IMPACT DOOR COUNTY THROUGH THE NOON HOUR... ...ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM TO IMPACT THE REGION WITH HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... .Snow will continue across Door County through the noon hour. Up to an additional inch is possible. The snow will result in hazardous travel conditions through midday. A strengthening low pressure system will track from the mid-Mississippi Valley to the central Great Lakes from Friday morning through midday Saturday. The strong system will bring heavy snow and strong winds to the region. Probability of at least 6 inches of snow range from 70 to 90% across the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas, and from 50 to 70% across parts of central and far northeast Wisconsin. In addition, wind gusts could reach 45 mph or higher in the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas, where near-blizzard conditions are possible. Temperatures near to slightly above freezing could locally reduce snowfall totals right along the Lake Michigan shoreline. ...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Winds could gust in excess of 45 mph, especially in the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas, where considerable blowing and drifting snow and near-blizzard conditions are possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Wisconsin. * WHEN...From Friday morning through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, and result in near-blizzard conditions in the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches, and cause power outages.
