The Interstate 90 Corridor in Wisconsin Upgraded to a Winter
Storm Warning...
.The latest information from this morning still indicates that a
strong winter storm will affect the region Friday into Saturday
morning with heavy snow, wind, and bitterly cold temperatures.
Blowing and drifting snow are expected. There could also be
pockets of whiteout conditions, as wind gusts increase Friday to
40 mph, especially in open areas of northeast Iowa and southeast
Minnesota.
Snow amounts have been increased with the highest snow totals
expected in central and southwest Wisconsin...into northeast Iowa
where 8 to 12 inches of snow could fall. This is the same area
that was hit earlier in the week with the most snow. Snow totals
will continue to monitored and refined as the storm approaches.
Widespread travel impacts are expected Friday into Saturday. Consider
altering, delaying or even canceling travel plans if conditions
warrant it.
Bitterly cold air arrives as this storm system exits the area.
This will lead to wind chills of 20 to 30 below by Saturday
night.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and
southwest Wisconsin.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
