* WHAT...For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
expected. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero. For the Wind
Chill Watch, dangerously cold wind chills possible. Wind chills
as low as 30 below zero.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Kansas.
* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Warning, from 6 PM this evening to 6
PM CST Saturday. For the Wind Chill Watch, from Saturday
evening through Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on
exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is not typical January cold. This is
some of the coldest arctic air southwest Kansas has seen in
years. Becoming stranded outdoors without the necessary
protection from the cold will be life threatening. Remember to
protect pets and livestock...they feel wind chill too!
