Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas,
Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin and
Virginia, including the following areas, Amherst, Appomattox,
Bedford, Botetourt, Buckingham, Campbell, Carroll, Charlotte,
Floyd, Franklin, Grayson, Halifax, Henry, Patrick, Pittsylvania,
Roanoke and Rockbridge.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks
and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Up to 2 inches of rain and a period with intense rainfall
rates may result in flooding of streams and creeks.
Tributaries of main stem rivers may also rise out of their
banks.
