MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA TODAY AND
CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY MORNING...
Moderate to heavy snow will continue across the area today, with
the worst conditions expected this afternoon and evening. Increasing
east to northeast winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 30 to 50
mph will create considerable blowing and drifting snow with near
white-out conditions. Across the Fox Valley and lakeshore region,
blizzard conditions are expected late this afternoon into Saturday
morning.
Motorists should anticipate hazardous travel conditions through Saturday
morning, and may become very difficult across northeast Wisconsin
at the onset of the expected blizzard conditions. Storm total snowfall
amounts of 6 to 15 inches are expected, with the highest totals expected
across the Fox Valley east to the lakeshore while the lowest totals
are anticipated across portions of north-central Wisconsin.
If you have travel plans today or tonight, consider postponing
any travel until the storm passes. If you do need to venture out,
use extreme caution, allow extra time to reach your destination,
slow down, and allow extra room between you and the vehicle in
front of you.
