A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM CONTINUES TO IMPACT THE REGION WITH
HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...
.A strengthening low pressure system will track from southern Lake
Michigan to Lake Huron by Saturday morning. The strong system will
bring heavy snow and strong winds to the region. Most of the region
should see total snowfall accumulations between 6 to 20 inches of
snow, with the highest amounts across the Door Peninsula. In
addition, wind gusts will continue to gust to 45 mph in the Fox
Valley, lakeshore, and the bayshore where blizzard conditions are
expected into Saturday morning.
...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Additional snow accumulations
between 2 and 5 inches. Winds gusting 35 to 45 mph will lead to
considerable blowing and drifting.
* WHERE...Calumet, Manitowoc, Winnebago, Brown, Door, Kewaunee, and
Outagamie Counties.
* WHEN...Until noon CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop to 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make
travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Gusty winds
could bring down tree branches. Travel is strongly discouraged
through Saturday morning.
