WASHINGTON AND NORTHWESTERN FREDERICK COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL
MARYLAND...FREDERICK AND NORTHWESTERN CLARKE COUNTIES IN
NORTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...CENTRAL JEFFERSON...BERKELEY COUNTIES IN THE
PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA AND SOUTHEASTERN HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES IN
EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA AND THE CITY OF WINCHESTER...
At 909 AM EST, an area of light to moderate snow was
located over portions of north-central Maryland, northern
Virginia, and the eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
Snow will coat the ground in spots this morning, and with
temperatures near freezing this may coat untreated surfaces as well.
Wind gusts around 30 to 40 mph combined with the snow may reduce
visibibility to near one-half mile at times.
Locations impacted include...
Hagerstown, Winchester, Martinsburg, Thurmont, Charles Town,
Emmitsburg, Shepherdstown, Municipal Stadium, Millwood Pike,
Robinwood, Fountainhead-Orchard Hills, Ranson, Boonsboro, Smithsburg,
Inwood, Paramount-Long Meadow, Wilson-Conococheague, Williamsport,
Stephens City, and Mount Aetna.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Maryland between mile markers 21 and 41.
Interstate 81 in Maryland between mile markers 1 and 12.
Be prepared for slippery surfaces when traveling. Slow down
and allow extra time to get to your destination.
