Local Media is reporting light icing on some elevated bridges and overpasses along Interstate Highway 2 between Mercedes and La Feria. National Weather Service Doppler radar is indicating very light rain or drizzle across portions of the Mid and Lower Rio Grande. Observations across the region show temperatures ranging from 27-32 degrees. Patchy light icing with trace accumulations along elevated surfaces will persist through sunrise. Light precipitation is expected to end by 6 AM. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and slow down over bridges or wet surfaces until temperatures rise above freezing around 10 AM.
