Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

* WHAT...For the first Hard Freeze Warning, sub-freezing
temperatures as low as 16 expected. For the second Hard Freeze
Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 15 expected.
* WHERE...Marengo, Dallas, Lowndes, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock,
Russell, Pike and Barbour Counties.
* WHEN...For the first Hard Freeze Warning, from 8 PM this
evening to noon CST Saturday. For the second Hard Freeze
Warning, from 6 PM Saturday to 9 AM CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
