WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO
7 AM EST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Freezing rain and light snow expected. Ice accumulations
of up to two tenths of an inch. Total snow accumulations of 1
to 4 inches.
* WHERE...Northern New York and Vermont.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Snow could impact the Wednesday morning commute.
Freezing rain will lead to locally hazardous travel overnight
Wednesday into early Thursday, especially across the St Lawrence
valley and eastern Vermont. Isolated power outages also cannot
be ruled out.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be two rounds of winter
precipitation. An area of snow will move in this evening into
the overnight hours, leading to a slippery Wednesday morning
commute. Then there will be a lull in precipitation during the
day on Wednesday. An area of freezing rain moves in Wednesday
evening into the overnight hours, potentially persisting into
Thursday morning for the northern Saint Lawrence Valley and
northeast Vermont. The immediate Champlain valley might see
mostly rain.
