FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Chambers and Galveston. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 451 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rollover Pass, Gilchrist, Bolivar Peninsula, High Island, Crystal Beach, Smith Point, Stowell, Winnie, Port Bolivar and Oak Island. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
