Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazoria, Galveston and Harris. * WHEN...Until 500 AM CST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 134 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southeastern Pasadena, League City, Texas City, southeastern Friendswood, La Porte, Lake Jackson, Alvin, Angleton, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, northwestern Freeport, Seabrook, Clute, Webster, Hitchcock, Kemah, southeastern Clear Lake, Nassau Bay and Taylor Lake Village. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
