SNOW, RAIN, AND WIND THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY...
A storm system will bring a mix of rain and snow this afternoon
through Friday. Rain and mountain snow will first develop across
northwest New Mexico this afternoon before expanding across much
of northern and central New Mexico tonight. Snow levels will begin
around 6500 feet today, dropping to near 6000 feet tonight. A few
inches of snow is possible across higher elevations, to include
Mount Taylor as well as the Tusas, Sangre de Cristo, Sandia,
Manzano and Zuni Mountains. Though showers will begin to slowly
taper off in these areas by daybreak Friday, showers will then
develop across far northeast New Mexico. A mix of rain and snow is
expected across much of the northeast plains with little
accumulation. Breezy conditions are also expected on Friday, which
may result in areas of blowing snow and low visibility.
Motorists should exercise caution and be prepared for rapidly
changing visibilities and road conditions. Allow extra time to
reach your destination.
