should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Widespread rain and some thunderstorms are expected across the
Tennessee Valley today, but should end from northwest-to-southeast
late this afternoon and this evening. With an additional 1-2 inches
of rain expected to occur (along with locally higher amounts in
thunderstorms), the risk for flash, areal, and river/creek flooding
will remain high through this evening.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following areas,
Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin AL, Jackson, Lauderdale,
Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan and southern
middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Franklin TN,
Lincoln and Moore.
* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall amounts between 1-2 inches are expected across the
region today and this evening, along with locally higher
totals.
