If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.
DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CST
SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog and
freezing fog, affecting the area to varying degrees.
* WHERE...In Kansas, Jewell and Mitchell Counties. In Nebraska,
Polk, York, Dawson, Fillmore, Furnas, Gosper, and Thayer Counties.
* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to noon CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous,
and freezing fog could deposit a thin layer of ice on untreated
roads and bridges, making them slick.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Conditions will likely vary across the
Advisory area, with fog worsening in some areas before others
tonight, and also improving in some areas before others Saturday
morning. However, at some point most places should see visibility
drop to around 1/4 mile or less. Even if truly dense fog fails to
develop, even lighter freezing fog could cause slick spots on
untreated roads and bridges. The portion of this Advisory least
likely to experience any dense fog is western Dawson County.
