issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in Maryland...West
Virginia...Virginia...
Potomac River at Shepherdstown affecting Washington, Jefferson
and Berkeley Counties.
Rappahannock River at Remington affecting Southern Fauquier and
Culpeper zones.
Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Jefferson and Berkeley
Counties.
Seneca Creek at Dawsonville affecting Northwest Montgomery zone.
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...
* WHAT...Flooding is possible.
* WHERE...Potomac River at Shepherdstown.
* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, River Road is completely flooded in low
spots between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. Significant
portions of the C&O Canal towpath are flooded between McMahons
Mill and Dam Number Four.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:30 PM EST Saturday the stage was 7.4 feet, or 7.6 feet
below flood stage.
- Forecast...Flood stage may be reached based on the latest
forecast information.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
