by posting on our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag
NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location where
impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of Piedmont North Carolina including southern
Mecklenburg and southeastern Gaston Counties, and Upstate South
Carolina including northeastern York County.
* WHEN...Until 500 AM EST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 255 AM EST, Automated gauges indicated stream rises due to
prior thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Isolated flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected.

Uptown Charlotte, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte,
Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte,
Northwest Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Fort Mill, Belmont,
Pineville, Tega Cay, Marvin, Freedom Park, Southpark Mall,
Charlotte Douglas Airport, The Arboretum, The Plaza and
Carowinds.
