Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM EST THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of upstate South Carolina, including the
following county, York.
* WHEN...Until 1015 AM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 413 AM EST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding.
- At 415 AM EST the stream gauge at Wildcat Creek near
Robertson Road reported a river stage of 10.23 feet. At this
stage, McConnels Highway near Wildcat Creek will be flooded,
and water may be approaching or inundating roadways near
Saluda Road and Highway 324.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
