Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Berkeley and Jefferson Counties. Cacapon River near Great Cacapon affecting Morgan County. For the Potomac River...including Paw Paw, Hancock, Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry, Point of Rocks, Edwards Ferry, Little Falls...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Opequon Creek...including Martinsburg...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Cacapon River...including Great Cacapon...Minor flooding is forecast. ...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Opequon Creek near Martinsburg. * WHEN...Until this evening. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Water begins to cover backyards of homes on Bowers Road (County Road 1/1). Douglas Grove Road (County Road 9/16) is flooded and impassible. Water also approaches Golf Course Road (County Road 36) and Grapevine Road (County Road 9/14). * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:16 AM EST Monday the stage was 10.7 feet, or 0.7 feet above flood stage. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:16 AM EST Monday was 10.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.1 feet this morning.
