FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM AKST THIS
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Auke Lake, Montana Creek and Jordan Creek near Areas
Around Montana Creek, Auke Lake, And Jordan Creek Mall.
* WHEN...Until 230 PM AKST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 532 AM AKST, river gauge reports indicate rises in water
levels from heavy rain in areas around Montana Creek, Auke
Lake, and Jordan Creek Mall. Minor flooding is ongoing,
especially near Auke Lake, Montana Creek and Jordan Creek.
Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are possible.
- For Auke Lake near Auke Bay:
At 2:00am the stage was 32.4 feet.
Flood Stage is 33.0 feet.
Forecast: The lake has crested.
Impacts:
At 32.0 feet: This is bankful conditions along Auke Lake.
For Jordan Creek near Juneau:
At 3:00am the stage was 10.05 feet.
Flood Stage is 9.7 feet.
Forecast: The river has crested and is receding.
Impacts:
At 10.5 feet: There will be some inundation of structures and
roads near Jordan Creek with more than one foot of water.
Some residential homes and commercial offices along the creek
will see significant flooding.
For Montana Creek at Back Loop Bridge:
At 2:00am the stage was 13.85 feet.
Flood Stage is 14.5 feet.
Impacts:
At 14.5 feet: Water begins flowing over the low water
crossing on Montana Creek Road. Bankfull conditions at the
gauge with water starting to inundate adjacent undeveloped
fields along Mendenhall Loop Road.
