FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM AKST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Auke Lake, Montana Creek and Jordan Creek near Areas Around Montana Creek, Auke Lake, And Jordan Creek Mall. * WHEN...Until 500 PM AKST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 116 PM AKST, river gauge reports indicate that water levels from previous heavy rain in areas around Montana Creek, Auke Lake, and Jordan Creek Mall are only very slowly falling. Minor flooding is still a concern, especially near Auke Lake, Montana Creek and Jordan Creek. Additional rainfall of up to one tenth of an inch is possible. - For Auke Lake near Auke Bay: At 1:00pm the stage was 32.4 feet. Flood Stage is 33.0 feet. Impacts: At 32.0 feet: This is bankful conditions along Auke Lake. - For Jordan Creek near Juneau: At 1:00pm the stage was 9.48 feet. Flood Stage is 9.7 feet. Forecast: A crest around 9.64 feet is expected around 3:00pm Tuesday. Impacts: At 9.2 feet: This is the stage when Jordan Creek is at bankfull and water will begin to inundate areas along the edges of the creek near Race Reality and Jordan Square. At 9.7 feet: Water will inundate the Jordan Square`s front and back parking lots, around Jordan Creek office condominiums with up to one foot of water. Some residential driveways will be flooded and cut off. - For Montana Creek at Back Loop Bridge: At 1:00pm the stage was 14.32 feet. Flood Stage is 14.5 feet. Forecast: A crest around 12.02 feet is expected around 3:00pm Tuesday. Impacts: At 14.5 feet: Water begins flowing over the low water crossing on Montana Creek Road. Bankfull conditions at the gauge with water starting to inundate adjacent undeveloped fields along Mendenhall Loop Road.
