Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Illinois...
Rock River near Joslin affecting Rock Island, Whiteside and Henry
IL Counties.
.An ice jam will cause water to infiltrate the lowlands along the
river.
...FLOOD WARNING FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL SATURDAY
MORNING...
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Rock River near Joslin.
* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Water affects residences in outlying areas
immediately along the river including basements, yards, driveways,
and access roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 5:45 AM CST Wednesday the stage was 13.6 feet.
- Ice impacting the entire stretch of the Rock River.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.5
feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late
Friday evening. Ice jam impacts are variable and can
fluctuate 1-2 feet from the forecasted crest. Impacts could
also linger longer than currently forecasted.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
