A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Critical Fire Weather Conditions Again Forecasted Sunday...
.Above normal warmth combined with a breezy westerly wind will
create low humidity that will allow for fire conditions to
develop late this morning and afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 11 AM MST /noon CST/ this morning to 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/
this afternoon. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 004 Norton, 079 Dundy, 080
Hitchcock and 081 Red Willow.
* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly. Use caution
if engaging in activities that may result in a fire starting.
