ACCUMULATING SNOW CONTINUES FOR THE PANHANDLE...
.A frontal band continues to move through the northern panhandle
and will bring accumulating snow. Temperatures have warmed into
the mid 30s for much of the south and outer coast, with rain
mixing in with the snow for these locations at times. High snow
ratios due to dry snow in the northern panhandle and Juneau area
have led to higher than expected snow accumulations.
* WHAT...Snow expected. New snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches.
* WHERE...City and Borough of Juneau.
* WHEN...until 6 AM AKST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Heavy wet snow will be
difficult to manage due to high water content.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest snowfall is expected late tonight.
The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Snow
will become increasingly wet and heavy through the night.
