The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...
Flint River near Lovejoy affecting Clayton, Spalding and Fayette
Counties.
For the Flint River Basin...including Lovejoy...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Flint River near Lovejoy.
* WHEN...Until this evening.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding continues. Flooding of
Rivers Edge Golf Course continues. Several holes and fairways will
flood. Flooding of some yards begins upstream of gage between
Upper Riverdale Road and Highway 138.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EST Thursday the stage was 12.6 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM EST Thursday was 14.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage this
afternoon to 6.8 feet early Saturday morning. It will then
rise above flood stage Saturday afternoon to 12.9 feet early
Sunday morning. It will fall below flood stage again late
Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
12.9 feet on 02/20/2020.
