The National Weather Service in Peachtree City GA has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...
Flint River at US 19 near Carsonville affecting Taylor, Talbot,
Crawford and Upson Counties.
Flint River below Big Branch near Molena affecting Meriwether and
Pike Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Flint River at US 19 near Carsonville.
* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 22 feet, Minor flooding expands into the woodlands
and fields along the river upstream and downstream from the gage
on U.S. Highway 19. The flood waters will be up to 4 feet deep
over the top of the boat ramp and cover a portion of the access
road by the bridge on the Taylor County side of the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:45 PM EST Thursday the stage was 13 feet and rising
slowly.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 13.8 feet early tomorrow
afternoon. It will then fall to 13.6 feet tomorrow evening.
It will rise above flood stage Saturday afternoon to 21.8
feet Monday morning. It will then fall again but remain above
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 18 feet.
