dangers of flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...
Oconee River at Milledgeville affecting Baldwin, Wilkinson and
Washington Counties.
* WHAT...No flooding is currently forecast.
* WHERE...Oconee River at Milledgeville.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning to late Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding
occurs upstream and downstream from the gage located around one
half mile upstream from the Georgia Highway 22 and 24 bridge. Low
lying portions of woodlands and pasture in the natural flood plain
will begin to flood. This will include portions of the sidewalks
in the Oconee River Greenway Park just downstream from the bridge.
Sinclair Dam will have one to two gates open to reach this height.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 PM EST Friday the stage was 16.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.1
feet tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
