A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northwest Indiana, including northwestern
Lake county IN.
* WHEN...Until noon CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 950 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain diminishing
across the area. A few streams may continue to rise late this
morning, but improvement is expected this afternoon.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hammond, Gary, Calumet City, Portage, East Chicago,
Schererville, Lansing, Highland, Munster, Griffith, Dyer,
Lynwood and Whiting.
