FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY AFTERNOON FOR GUSTY WINDS
AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTHERN CAMPBELL COUNTY AND THE
WESTON COUNTY PLAINS IN WYOMING...AND WESTERN FALL RIVER COUNTY IN
SOUTH DAKOTA...
.Warm, dry, and windy conditions are expected south and west of
the Black Hills area on Thursday afternoon. The minimum relative
humidity will fall into the teens, and gusty southwest to
eventually northwest winds are expected, leading to possible
critical fire weather conditions.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is
in effect Thursday afternoon.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 315 Southern Campbell, 317
Weston County Plains and 322 Fall River County Area.
* WINDS...West 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 17 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low relative
humidity would produce critical fire weather conditions.
