Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of central and southern New Jersey, including the
following counties, in central New Jersey, Monmouth. In southern
New Jersey, Ocean.
* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 242 AM EDT, gauge reports indicated earlier heavy rainfall
across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- For Manasquan at Allenwood:
At 2:15am the stage was 14.65 feet.
Flood Stage is 14.5 feet.
For N. Branch Metedeconk River at Lakewood:
At 2:15am the stage was 7.68 feet.
Flood Stage is 8 feet.
For Manasquan at Squankum:
At 2:30am the stage was 8.62 feet.
Flood Stage is 8.5 feet.
