Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Big Bend Florida, including the following counties, Gadsden, Leon and Liberty. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 845 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tallahassee, Midway, Tallahassee Community College, Havana, Florida State University, Florida A and M, Quincy, Doak Campbell Stadium, Fred George Park, Gibson, Lake Jackson, Scotland, Mission San Luis, Orchard Pond, Messer Park, Griffin Heights, Forest Meadows Park, Levy Park, Macon Community Park and Innovation Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
