closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
* WHAT...Up to one to two feet of inundation above ground level
expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways.
* WHERE...Areas along the Pamlico Sound and adjacent tidal creeks
as well as the vulnerable portions of northern Ocracoke.
* WHEN...From 8 PM Thursday to 2 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...NCDOT is reporting that NC 12 on the northern end of
Ocracoke Island remains closed due to ocean overwash and
dangerous driving conditions.
