* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rain. * WHERE...The northeast Piedmont, Sandhills, and Coastal Plain in central North Carolina, including the following counties: Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne and Wilson. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding, especially in urban areas and of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A front will edge east across the eastern Carolinas and offshore through early Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and track northeastward along and just west of that front and result in an axis of two to four inches of rain over the Watch area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
