The National Weather Service in Raleigh NC has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina...
Rocky River Near Norwood affecting Stanly and Anson Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Rocky River near Norwood.
* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Action Stage. The river begins to overflow
its banks in some areas upstream of the gage site.
At 20.0 feet, Minor flood stage. There is significant overflow
into adjacent pasture and lowlands.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 19.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early this morning to a crest of 20.2 ft. It will then fall
below flood stage later this morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...No available flood history.
