Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
Areas of fog, locally dense, are expected to persist across
Mainland Dare County and Northern Outer Banks through tonight.
Visibilities will range from 0.25 to 1 mile.
If traveling in this area, watch out for sudden reductions to
visibility. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave
plenty of distance ahead of you.
