property.

rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...
Thorn Creek at Thornton affecting Cook County.
For the Thorn Creek...including Thornton...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Thorn Creek from Near Glenwood downstream to confluence
with Little Calumet River, including the Thornton gauge.
* WHEN...From this morning to early Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Glenwood Thornton Road threatened north of
Glenwood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 9.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:45 AM CDT Monday was 9.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.5
feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late
tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
