A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but
not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along
rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

The Flood Watch is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...
Illinois River at Morris affecting Grundy and La Salle Counties.
* WHAT...Flooding is possible.
* WHERE...Illinois River from Kankakee River outlet at Channahon
downstream to Heritage Harbor east of Ottawa, including the Morris
gauge.
* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Pine Bluff Road threatened west of IL-47
south of Morris. Dwight Road threatened south of Morris. High
water levels begin to impact shipping interests along the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 14.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage
by tomorrow.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
